Holiday Grease Roundup

Recycle your Used Cooking Oil for a Good Cause

The 2026 Holiday Grease Roundup Is Here!

What is the Holiday Grease Roundup?

The Holiday Grease Roundup is a seasonal program to collect FOG (fats, oils, and grease) from home kitchens. When poured down the drain, FOG clogs pipes, damages sewer systems, and pollutes our waterways. Instead of pouring it down the drain, bring it to a dropoff site for safe disposal and recycling.

Who Can Participate?

All residents of the North Texas region are welcome! Whether you’re frying a turkey or cooking up a feast, your grease can be recycled! It’s free, easy, and helps keep our community clean.

When is the Roundup?

The Roundup runs November 1 through January 31. Drop off your grease at any time during this period.

Where Can I Drop Off My Grease?

Bring your cooled, sealed containers of grease to any of our designated dropoff locations across North Texas using the locator below.

Why During the Holidays?

The holidays are full of delicious meals – and lots of leftover grease. This is the perfect time to protect your home and the environment by recycling it instead of pouring it down the drain.

Looking Back at the 2025 Holiday Grease Roundup: A Huge Success!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2025 Holiday Grease Roundup! Your efforts in recycling used cooking oil and grease helped protect our sewer systems and reduce environmental waste, making a positive impact in the North Texas region.

Results From the 2025 Roundup

We are pleased to report that with the combined efforts of municipalities, residents, the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), the Wastewater and Treatment Education Roundtable (WATER), and American BioSource, 8,591 gallons of used cooking oil and grease were collected during the 2025 event.

A total of 49 entities across the North Central Texas region partnered with the Holiday Grease Roundup to promote existing grease collection services and provide 51 accessible drop-off locations. These convenient sites allowed residents to safely dispose of their used cooking oil and grease, helping prevent plumbing issues and harmful environmental impacts caused by pouring grease down the drain.

All collected grease will be recycled into biodiesel or biogas, creating a clean and sustainable alternative fuel while helping protect our sewer systems and environment. Your participation helps prevent potential plumbing issues and harmful environmental effects caused by the grease being poured down the drain.
